The early WC-51/52 weapons carrier had 6 volt electrical systems. The battery was located in the left side of the engine compartment. The later weapons carriers went to 12 volt electrical systems to accommodate radio requirements. Shown here are pictures of an original battery tray from another vehicle owned by Bruce Doughty. Also shown is a picture of an original hold-down clamp with dimensional drawings. A painted Plexiglas member is used with this clamp since the shown battery is smaller than the original one. Note that a different type of tray (five-sided box with short sides) is shown mounted in the battery compartment in my vehicle.
